The Flags TEAM (coordinator GERMANY)

The flags team will create a sort of escape quiz for the other groups.

Each national group will make a little interactive quiz with learningapps. All the quizzes will be put together into a sort of escape game.

A) FIRST TASK
We will use learningapps to create different games for our escape game. So it’s a good idea to see how this site works.
Go to learningapps (no login!) and use the search function on the top left corner. Find quizzes about Flags Olympic games
Discover different sorts of games and have fun doing this.

B) SECOND TASK
Now we will use learningapps to create our own quizzes or games.

The Sports TEAM (coordinator CROATIA)

TASK NO 1.
As an introductory activity, students will think about where they can find mathematics when they think of Olympic sports. For this activity we will use Mentimeter. Students will get QR code, link or code to Mentimeter and there they will write an Olympic sport or a sports prop and what connects it to mathematics. The deadline for the implementation of this activity is February 10, 2024.

TASK NO 2.
Students will research in which sports the representatives of their countries won the most trophies at the Summer and Winter Olympic games. They will also look for interesting facts and records set by their representatives. Try to find important informations about each record (who set the record, from which country, when the record was set, where it was held and Olympic Games...) and follow the above with photos. Students will create a joint presentation in which they will present the results of their research and a timeline of the top 10 results of athletes from their country. We will use Canva for this activity.

TASK NO 3.
Instructions:
Read the text and then solve the problems. Then look for the results of the problems on the coloring sheet. Color the fields that contain the results of the problems and you will find out what is hidden on the sheet.


The medals TEAM (coordinator SPAIN)

Activity 1: Choose a comrade from another country.
We create binary teams of two students from different countries.You can offer or accept another student collaboration.

Activity 2: Mathematical medals design
Each pair of students take a medal and fill it with two parts:
- The first student writes a short mathematical question in the head of the chosen medal
- The second student solves the exercise and writes the answer in the reverse of the medal

Activity 3: ETWINNING MAGAZINE
The final work will be posted in some pages of our common magazine (this task will be done by the activity coordinator)
