On Monday 5 February at 11:15 CET in the morning, the first online meeting of the partners of the etwinning project "Math around Paris 2024" took place.
Students from schools in Greece, France, Croatia, Germany, France, Germany, Spain and Moldova took part, and for the first time our partners became a reality.
First the founder of the project, Maria Gaume (France), greeted and then students one by one took the floor and greeted in English. The topic we dealt with is internet safety (since February 6 is the World Safe Internet Day) and especially the use of mobile phones and social media by children and teenagers.
We recorded children's responses to the following questions (the results will be presented on the blog, the twinspace of the project):
- Do you think that the use of social media has a negative impact?
- Do you spend too much time on your mobile phone?
- Do you wake up at night to check your messages?
A WORD CLOUD was then created (using the wooclap tool) based on the children's answers to the question: "What activity can you do instead of looking at your phone?"

So, we finally met - even digitally - we faced each other, we said "Hello..." and we heard them greet us in turn. Never mind that our English is not very good, never mind the technical problems - our microphone didn't want to "cooperate" at first - we tried and enjoyed an unprecedented experience.
It was definitely worth it and we will definitely be better prepared next time!

We watched the video and also researched on the internet how cell phones affect us and whether they are dangerous for our health. After that, we jointly designed the questions for the Wordwall quiz on the topic of using mobile phones, and the teacher then created the quiz. In the end, we created digital posters on the topic of internet security.
